One of Canada’s largest public infrastructure projects in recent years, the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension Project will extend Toronto’s subway system by 8.6 kilometres and add six new stations along the way. One of the major features of one such station, the Downsview Park Station, is the sweeping vegetated green roof, which brings with it a host of benefits, such as improved energy efficiency, air quality and noise reduction. Once complete, the extended subway lines will help reduce congestion and travel times, and will benefit those living, working and commuting around the GTA.

In addition to the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension, Aecon is also a proud partner on the Waterloo (Ontario) LRT and Toronto’s Eglinton Crosstown transit systems.
